User manual for translators

Overview

You have been invited by Translators without Borders to access their translation center powered by ProZ.com, an automated platform used by Translators without Borders to assign translation-related jobs to their trusted translators, and to support interactions and communications related to the job.

When a job is released in this platform, notifications are sent out in batches of 5, sent in 15-minute intervals,to the translators who meet the corresponding requirements.

Translators are invited to a job posting page where they can evaluate the tasks offered and eventually accept one or more of them. The first notified translator who accepts a task will have it assigned. Once all tasks have been accepted, a job is closed and no longer available to other interested translators.

Your dashboard

The Dashboard option in the top menu will offer you access to all your assignments in three separate tabs:

  • Active assignments: the tasks you are translating
  • Available tasks: tasks you could accept
  • Completed assignments: tasks you completed

On the right side of the platform you will be able to manage your availability on the platform, and to view your basis statistics (words translated and tasks completed).

Your assignments

The Assignments option in the top menu will offer you:

  • Your assignments: tasks that have been assigned to you, including a tool to search assignments
  • Your available tasks: tasks that have not been assigned to anyone yet, and that you are eligible to accept

Your profile

At the right of the top menu you will be able to:

  • View your profile, including displayed name, location, languages and subject areas and workspace statistics (words translated and tasks completed)
    • Language and subject areas can only be modified by Translators without Borders
  • Edit your profile: first and last name, email, country, displayed name and profile visibility
    • Pictures are displayed only when the profile is associated with a ProZ.com profile (same picture displayed)
  • Log-out
