Overview
This manual describes the management of clients in the translation center. Other features are addressed in the remaining manuals for administrators:
Clients in the translation center
Clients can create work orders (or work can be ordered on their behalf), and reports specific to their activity can be generated. A list of clients can optionally be shown to the general public to promote your services.
You can associate profiles to the clients, if case you want them actively involved in the jobs created on their behalf (for example client representatives that will take part in terminology discussions with the translators).
You should refrain from creating client profiles if your PMs will manage the whole translation workflow without getting clients and translators in contact
Alternatively, if you have project managers that will act on behalf of certain client(s), you can designate them as contacts for their clients, so they will be able to create and follow-up work orders for these clients without having administrative rights in the overall operation
The profiles associated with clients can be:
- Administrators have full control of the client information and have access to all orders created on behalf of the client. This role should be reserved for higher management or company owners.
- Users have the ability to post work orders on behalf of the client and manage any work items created by them. They do not have access to orders created by other users of this client.
You have the following tools to manage the clients information:
- To view the clients currently in the platform, select 'Clients → List of clients' in the top dropdown menu.
- There is a tool to search clients by name
- To add a client to your translation center, select 'Clients → Add new client' in the top dropdown menu and enter the basic client information: name, website and a description that will be shown to translators.
- Once the new client was created, you will be offered the following options:
- Invite client administrators
- Invite client users
- Don't create an account now
- To view a client profile you should open the profile by clicking on the link in any of the pages including the client. The profile includes basic data such as name, website URL and description, plus a set of management options.
- To edit the basic client data click on Edit profile in the left side menu.
- To see the jobs posted by (or on behalf of) the client, click on Jobs in the left side menu.
