To contribute to the realisation of the highest attainable level of health for all people worldwide, especially for the poor and disadvantaged in low-income and middle-income countries, by facilitating communication, understanding and advocacy among all stakeholders to address health priorities, including and especially (1) the education, clinical knowledge and skills of healthcare providers worldwide so as to improve their ability to deliver effective healthcare, and (2) the health information and learning needs of the public, healthcare providers, researchers and policymakers.
Our vision is of a world where the human rights framework reflects the real world experiences of all of us, effectively furthering social and economic justice and human dignity, and catalyzing change from the local to the global, back to the local.
To realize this vision, our role is one of catalyzing social change through leveraging of strategic spaces. This is work that we undertake in close partnership with local partners and advocates from around the world; what we like to call “making the UN work for the poor,” although it also encompasses strategic spaces beyond the UN.
GI-ESCR believes that reaching that next, needed scale of impact requires both the amplification of voices of local advocates by leveraging international law and mechanisms – and informing the content, meaning, and interpretation of international human rights law from the perspectives of marginalized groups and communities
We promote the universal prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment of children.
GO Campaign improves the lives of orphans and vulnerable children around the world by partnering with local heroes to deliver local solutions. We identify Local Heroes throughout the world and partner with these grassroots organizations to provide children and young adults with critical services, resources and needed opportunities. We offer support and raise awareness about these small impactful organizations.
To enable the poor, specially the poorest, to create a world without poverty.
The mission of GMP is to improve the health and well-being of women and children in developing countries by building the capacity of development partners to implement culturally grounded, grandmother-inclusive and intergenerational community programs. Recognizing the central role of grandmothers in matters related to women and children in non-Western cultures, GMP has developed a strategy to harness their knowledge and natural leadership capacities to influence positive change on issues such as early and forced marriage, teen pregnancy, female genital mutilation and children’s education.
GRAN advocates for the human rights of grandmothers, vulnerable children and youth of Sub-Saharan Africa. We work to engage Canadian and international support for measures that will significantly improve the quality of life for those struggling to hold their families and communities together in the face of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Our efforts focus on the areas of health, education, and freedom from violence, discrimination and exploitation.
The Greek Forum of Refugees is a multinational network. The founding members are: the Afghan Migrants & Refugees Community in Greece (AMRCG), the Association of Sudanese Refugees in Greece (ASRG), the Society of Somalia in Greece (SSG) and the Greek Forum of Migrants (GFM). Members of GFR can be any groups of refugees, organized in a formal or informal way.
GFR's main goal is to create a viable network that will unite all refugees living in Greece through a joint course of action. GFR aims to provide assistance to refugees during the asylum procedure, to protect their rights and help their integration in the Greek society.
The central idea of GFR is that none of the goals can be achieved without the participation of the refugees themselves.
Ground Truth’s goal is to make humanitarian aid more effective by providing aid agencies with the tools to systematically listen and respond to the voices of affected people. To this end, we offer humanitarian agencies practical tools to discover whether the services they provide are appropriate and relevant, whether affected populations trust them, and whether they feel empowered. Through a mix of face-to-face data collection, cell phone surveys, and focus group discussions, Ground Truth relays feedback from intended beneficiaries to agencies in real time, so they can decide how to act on it. The feedback data can help predict program outcomes, and enable aid agencies to track their performance over time.
